Absorption by the canopy (turbid or discrete)

This is the percentage of radiation entering the canopy via the reference plane at the top-of-canopy, that has been absorbed by the scatterers in the scene, where scatterers refers to all objects (turbid or discrete) that are associated with the foliage or woody elements in the scene - thus excluding the underlying background (soil).
