Reflection from the canopy (spectral albedo)

This is the percentage of reflected radiation from a vegetation canopy with respect to that incident at the top-of-canopy level (spectral albedo). More specifically, fref is defined as 100 times the ratio of the upward (reflected) total flux to that of the incident (downward) total flux. This flux ratio is to be carried out with respect to all radiation passing through a planar reference surface with lateral dimensions equivalent to that of the scene of interest, and oriented perpendicular to the underlying surface normal at an elevation that is just above the maximum height of the target.
